This Memorial Day, don't forget to remember...

Many people think of Memorial Day as just another three-day weekend marked with sun and fun, backyard barbecues and picnics at a park or on the beach. While you enjoy this holiday weekend, don't forget to remember what Memorial Day is for. Memorial Day was once known as "Decoration Day", and was officially observed on May 30, 1868  when flowers were placed on graves at Arlington Cemetery. It wasn't until 1971 "Memorial Day" was moved to the last Monday of May.

Monday is a special day to remember the fallen. A day to honor the courageous men and women who lost their lives while protecting ours.

...and it doesn't hurt to offer an extra prayer for those brave families and fellow troops left behind to carry.

Thank you, oh thank you men and women brave and strong...for those who served so gallantly, we sing this grateful song...
